Atfaluna, an Arabic word for ‘Our Children' was established in Jordan in 2015 by a group of independent individuals to respond to the increasing numbers of children unable to access necessary medical care because of prohibitive costs. Since then, Atfaluna has supported over 6000 children from different nationalities in Jordan receive the medical care they need at no cost to their families. We are a grassroots organization that brings together a network of over 250 volunteers including over 90 medical professionals, and over 70 hospitals and other medical service providers to help us achieve our mission. Atfaluna for Medical Coverage is registered as a non-for-profit company with the Jordanian Ministry of Industry and Trade.

Our Mission
To reach this vision, our mission is to raise funds, volunteer our time and energy, and synergize good will and expertise towards providing disadvantaged children with the medical care they need to live a healthy, pain-free, and dignified life.
What Distinguishes Us
What distinguishes us from other organizations is that our work revolves almost exclusively around volunteerism, which greatly reduces our administrative expenses – in 2020 only 5.24% of our expenditure went towards administrative expenses, whereas the remaining 94.76% went purely into patient care. Moreover, even those administrative expenses are most often covered by donors who choose specifically to cover them on our behalf.
With few exceptions, our physicians usually waive their fees entirely, and all the hospitals and supportive medical (laboratory, diagnostic imaging) service providers with whom we work give us generous discounts. Naturally, this all multiplies the value of every donated dinar - in 2020 the treatments that cost Atfaluna around 194 thousand dinars had an estimated “original market price” of around 481 thousand dinars!
