Khalil was suffering from severe deformity in the spinal cord and had had two surgeries already and needed an additional surgery to lengthen the spinal cord. The surgery was a success!
Khalil is one out of seven children who are undergoing surgical interventions to treat their scoliosis. The cost of surgeries is being covered by PACES. Atfaluna is grateful for the generous grant offered by PACES.
Atfaluna values as well the great efforts by spine surgeons Dr Mohammad Armouti, Dr Mo’taz Jad’an and Dr Murad Zaher and neurosurgeon Dr Tareq Canaan for donating their fees in association with Khalil’s operation. Atfaluna also values the great efforts of the anthologists who also donated their fees in association with the scoliosis surgeries for the seven children and those include Dr Muawiah Ababneh, Dr Rifat Shihab, Dr Firas Al-Boti, Dr Wael Al-Khatib, Dr Amir Al-Kayed and Dr Eiman Shihab.
A big thank you by Atfaluna goes to Al-Abdali Hospital for offering generous discounts, as part of a cooperation agreement with Atfaluna, thus contributing to Khalil’s surgery. It is worthwhile noting that the true market value of Khalil’s surgery, excluding discounts and donated doctors’ fees, is estimated to be around JOD12,000. The cost of Khalil’s surgery, after discounts, is estimated to be around JOD6,000.
